Wild harvested from my organic gardens. Highly concentrated with fresh plant material, not dried. For jewelweed to be effective as a treatment for a poison ivy/oak/sumac rash, you need to derive an extract from it. The plant is juicy, and it is precisely its juice that you will want to access to treat your rash.
Many products sold dry their jewelweed first, which destroys the medicinal properties in the plant. The process I use is a double infusion with fresh, carefully selected plant material. It is infused, strained, then infused again with new plant material resulting in a infusion of 16:1 plant to oil ratio. Since this concentration is a very high proportion of liquid jewelweed versus beeswax, a very small amount of natural, plant derived preservative may be used. This is because introducing fresh plant material to make an oil, introduces water, which creates mold.
INGREDIENTS: Fresh Jewelweed, Plantain, Hemp Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Olive Oil, Beeswax, a natural, plant derived preservative: Leucidal SF Complete, Peppermint and Lavender essential oils.
I do not use chemical fragrance oils. All body care and herbal products are created in small batches by hand. Herbs are sustainably harvested and grown by me on my apothecary farm, or purchased from a reputable distributor in the USA.
